"Changing the Tide"

The moon's making her presence widely known
I see sorrow in the way she's glowing
the moon's making its presence known tonight
gleaming brighter like a watchful eye

Maybe she knows something's coming
she's already changing the tide
maybe she's telling us something
perhaps she's saying goodbye

One day all orbit will abandon this world
the moon will not always hold our hand in the dark
there will be deserts where ships once sailed
let's hope we're leaving something that makes a mark

The sun's losing his presence in the sky
I see cowardice in how he's shining
the sun's fading, it's slowly losing spark
barely burning like a dying star

Maybe he knows something's changing
he's already doubting himself
maybe he's resting for something
perchance he's bidding farewell

Someday the surface of earth will be changing
the sun will not always have our backs in morning
we will soon evolve where the deaf had failed
let us not be frightened by any words of warning

Oh, please tell me I will live to see this day
when it comes I know I won't be afraid
Oh, please tell me I will live to see the end
when it comes I hope I'll see you again
