"The Still Point of a Turning World"

I was once fond of sleeping
I was once your wind
you were once the words I printed on my skin
this had once felt like oceans
you were once at ease
I had once believed what's written on our bodies

I've been lying here on the floor
by the fire, cause I need its warmth
to embrace me, as I try to sleep
but there are some missing parts
color dreaming, the skin from your arms

If for once I am still, please just let me sleep
it's all the fantasies I've been missing

Let me go... out on a limb here
there's a chance I set this in motion
I was told... the coast would be all clear
this is lasting no more than a moment

Let me go... out on a limb here
there's a chance the stars could be shining
on my long... walk to elation
not that you need to know where I'm hiding

It was pouring down rain
when the sun showed his face
the glistening streets
shown a mirage unto me
you were there smiling wide
dressed in that way when you were mine

It's just heat and the rain
I told myself to look away
the deceiving clean streets
shown a mirage unto me
like a lake in the sand
I couldn't help but reach out my hand

Here it goes... a chance to remember
when you were... so full of laughter

Let me go... out on a limb here
there's a chance we could have made it
I will hold... true to my promise
I will soon be making some changes
it is my... goal to feel nothing
I will not be the one who's affected

I've been lying here on the floor
by the fire, cause I need its warmth
to embrace me, as I wait for sleep

And for now I am still, please do not wake me
it's all the memories I've been missing
